CHEMISTRY...(MYSTERY OF CHEMICALS)

The branch of the natural sciences dealing with the composition of substances and their properties and reactions.This was the definition I came to know when I was in VIth Standard and got an impression that it is an interesting subject.But today as I am doing my MSc in Chemistry,truly speaking the interest I was having towards this subject is totally lost.I am fed up with the subject.

Recently,while I was preparing for my exams,I found a word called '3,7 dimethylcyclopentanophenantherene'...Damn this word is bigger than sentences I write.I took a stopwatch and started reading the word again.Seriously it took me seven seconds to reach to the end of the word.And after that there was one way and that was to close the book and sleep.And I did that without any hesitation.But the next day I daringly took the step of going through the word again and came to know that its nothing but the positions of methyl group in cholesterol i.e.,its a cholesterol structure where four cyclohexane rings are attached to each other and two methyl groups are attached to it in position 3 and 7 respectively.And later when I stepped into the synthesis part of cholesterol believe me the entire mechanism comprised of seven pages.Initial step consists of one closed ring with two methyl groups and one phenol.And finally after various experimental methods it was converted to four closed rings and one opened ring with one OH-group attached to it.And this is called cholesterol whose molecular formula is C27 H46 O. We know that its harmful to a human body if the cholesterol level is high but I would say its more harmful if we go through the theoritical study of cholesterol.And finally when I completed this chapter my brain had reached its melting point and I again went to sleep.

What I wrote above was about cholesterol only.But that was not the end,there were more products that sucked me.They are Alkaloids, Quinine, Respirene, Terpenes, Alpha-pinene, Camphor, Oestrone, Equilenin and more...

But again today in the morning while I was going through wikipedia I found an attractive product called Aerogel . Aerogel is a solid state material with the lowest known density.There are various kinds of aerogel like silica-aerogel,carbon-aerogel,allumina-aerogel.




The above pictures are different forms of aerogel.See how a 2.5kg brick is supported by a piece of aerogel weighing only 2 gms.After going through the article I realised that I am lucky to have this subject and should take more interest towards this.

TIME DID THE CRIME...

CHARACTERS- ADAM WRIGHT(Mr.Right) AND LEFFY ROBERTS(Miss.Left)...


It was May 31, and Mr. Right was all ready to meet Ms Left. The meeting was important because Left was leaving the city next day . Ms Left was shuffling her eyes at the clock and the calling bell wondering when there will be a ting-tong at the door and she will open with a welcome smile. On the other side Mr. Right was having the mutual feeling and was ready with his bike so that he could reach on time.

Both of them were getting desperate as they realized that their love was growing stronger. They wanted to forget all kinds of misunderstanding that had happened in the past. The countdown had begun and Mr. Right was on his bike.

As he was halfway, he heard the cell-phone ringing. He stopped his bike to receive the call. And the reply from the other side was,”Adam this is Torenz. Please meet me within 5 mins. Its urgent.” Before Adam could say anything Torenz cut off the call. Mr. Right had to agree as Mr. Torenz was his best friend. He had to make a U-Turn and rode straight to his friends house. Now there were a lot of questions why had called him up like this. Imagining all sorts of things, he reached his friend’s house. Adam went inside and found Torenz sitting on the sofa. His eyes were closed and hands on his head. Adam went nearer, kept his hand on his shoulder and asked,Torenz what happened. He opened his eyes and replied with a nervous expression, we need to go to a village immediately.

Adam - But why?
Torenz- My driver has run the truck into a hotel and the pillars are broken.
Adam - But…
Torenz- Please don’t ask anything. Few people are injured and the public over
there is very angry and they want me to go there. And I know there is one person who can take me out of this difficulty. Its you Adam.
Adam - Ok I will go with you but please wait for sometime. Just get the papers ready. I will be back in 10 mins.

Adam went straight to Leffy’s house. Reached and walked towards the door thinking how he is going to face his girlfriend. He also knew how his girlfriend is going to react after she comes to know about the truth. Adam started crying inside which he didn’t want to express infront of his girlfriend. Stood there for sometime, tried to control himself, kept his head blank and pressed the bell. Within no time Leffy opened the door with the same cute smile.

Ms. Left - Come…
Mr.Right- No baby…I cant.
Ms.Left - Very funny. Please come inside.
Mr.Right- Baby please understand. I need to go.
Ms. Left – No please. You can’t go anywhere. That is it. After all whats more important than me.
Mr.Right-Baby its important. (Explains what has all happened)
Ms.Left -But…
Mr.Right-Please baby.I cant help it.(turned back and walked off)
Ms Left -Please stay atleast for half an hour. I want to be with you for sometime.(starts crying).

Adam didn’t look back and kept walking as he knew that he can’t see his baby crying. Turned the key on and went. Leffy kept on crying standing there near the door. She stood there for half an hour hoping her love would come back. But her eyes only waited….


IT WAS MR.RIGHT WHO LEFT
AND THEN MS.LEFT ALSO LEFT
IT WAS LONELYNESS AT THAT TIME
AND THE TIME DID THE CRIME….
MS.LEFT WAS RIGHT
MR.RIGHT WAS ALSO RIGHT
ONLY WRONG WAS THE TIME
AND THE TIME DID THE CRIME…

HANDS AFTER "LEG-BEFORE"

Yes,this is the third consecutive time Sachin got out by a wrong decision made by the Umpire. The appeal was again for LBW...Damn the poison-finger was up again...Umpires have become vampires.. Coach Gary Kirsten was dumb for a while...Sachin's expression after that was very annoying...And all the fans were as angry as you were...

But after that it was in the hands of Yuvi and V iru...They were in a full-flow.. Yuvi after geting his century,lifted his bat towards Sachin...Then it was Viru's turn...And in the end it was Yusuf Pathan scoring a quick 59...
